Where to go?

The past few weeks I have been thinking about my future a lot. I compiled some of my thoughts and goals already into a blogpost, but I feel like I want to talk more about the geographic future of mine.

Currently 2024, I live in Europe and indeed it is a really nice place to grow up, at least in the Nordics. But after 16 years here I never set food outside Europe, and it feels like I'm trapped. I like Europe as a home-base, a place to grow up, but I don't want to stay here forever.

I know this isn't really a problem for now, since I can't move yet. I will sadly have to wait until I finish high school, unless I quit it. Quitting is definitely an option, but I'm not sure if its worth it. I need to wait until I am 18 so I can handle bank stuff myself, and by then I will almost be finished with high school already.

Shit, 2026 is when I will graduate. It feels like its so far away, can I really wait this long?? It feels like the school is a distraction in my journey, I don't want to work at any place that requires high school degree anyways.

If I have no or little income

What I have in mind is something not too expensive, and chill. But I guess it really depends on my financial situation. I hope to have a steady income from startups by 18, but it can be difficult when school distracts so I can't work full-time.

If this is the case, places like Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia sounds promising. From what I have seen, these countries have positive reviews and there seems to be cheap places. I don't need a 5 star hotel, I just need somewhere to be that allows me to concentrate on coding. I would probably also require a gym somewhere near, cause I can't drop the grind even if I move to the other side of the world.

If I have good income

If I have good income, I would love to visit those countries mentioned before too and maybe stay there for a while. I am not a person who likes to spend money, and I would like to save most of my money or reinvest them into my startups.

I could then afford to visit my online friends! I have a whole lot of online friends from around the whole world, many of whom I have known for many years, but never met in real life. It would be very fun to go on a journey to visit them and be able to experience their countries.

Some of my destinations in mind are bigger cities, but I don't know if I actually would enjoy it for a longer period of time. Max 3 months maybe, then I would want to go somewhere more chill. Singapore, Malaysia, China, Japan, India, South Korea are some places that would be fun to go to. The problem is that I don't really know what I want, since most places in the world look very interesting. I guess I will see what my situation is when I turned 18 and then make a choice.

My belongings

When I go traveling like this, I would probably sell most of my stuff that I don't need. I really don't like having unnecessary stuff and I can get stressed by that. I feel like living a minimalistic life for a while would be good.

I would keep a laptop, some clothes, chargers, phone, and other necessary stuff. But I would need to get rid of my PC, screen, mixer, microphone. Really it's a lot of stuff you don't really need.

Let's see where the future brings me. I hope for the better part.
